Works Performed in Recent Structures
- Partial demolition, rehabilitation and reconstruction
of two buildings at the Escadinhas de Santo Estêvão
and the Calçadinha de Santo Estêvão,
typical constructions from 200 years ago, in
Alfama, Lisbon, Portugal;
Rehabilitation and structural strengthening,
with introduction, on the ground level, of steel
frames activated by the insertion of plane dampers,
of a centennial building with wooden floors and
masonry walls at the Calçada da Estrela
n.º 20, in Lisbon;
- Rehabilitation and remodelling
of the roof of the Cerca Palace, a centennial
building with wooden floors and masonry walls,
for the City Hall of Almada, in Portugal;
- Rehabilitation,
remodelling and enlargement of the structure
of the Quinta de Santo Amaro Saint, in with
wooden floors and masonry walls, for the City
Hall of Almada;
- Rehabilitation, remodelling rand
modification of the structure of the Belmarço
Palace, in with wooden floors and masonry walls,
for the City Hall of Faro, in the Algarve,
Portugal;
- Rehabilitation and construction of
new buildings for the conversion of the old
FEU HERMANOS Conserves of Sardines Plant,
from the beginning of century XX, into the Municipal
Museum of Portimão,
in the Algarve, with serious problems
of foundation on very alluvial soils, for
José Cid
and Isabel Aires Architects, L.da;
- Rehabilitation
of a building erected on the beginning
of the last century, at Francisco Barreto St.,
Faro, with the particular need to be recovered
from serious problems of deformation on
its peculiar roof steel structure, which had
restrained thermal movements;
- Rehabilitation
and strengthening of the Church of the Mexilhoeira
Grande, Algarve, constructed in century XVI,
for the improvement of its seismic performance,
since it is located in a zone of very
high seismic risk;
- Structural consolidation and
stabilization of the very instable schistous
slope of the ramparts of the arabic Aljezur
Castle, in the Algarve, for IPPAR.
